Hello and welcome I'm so excited to get started on this ... you're here because

you want some more information about our Confident Cue Cards workshop- brand new -coming up

very soon. So if you don't know me I'm Jo from Sisters Speaking English and I'm an

English language teacher from New Zealand... so let me tell you a little bit about why I wanted

to create this workshop. So you will probably know - there's a lot of information out there on

the internet about how to structure your IELTS writing, how to write your introduction, how to structure your body ...

paragraphs, the different types of essays, and how you should structure the answers to those different

essays - but there's not so much about the IELTS speaking, particularly the cue card section. So the cue card section,

as I'm sure most of you know, ... in that section you are given a card -a

topic card with your topic and some suggestions for some details you should include. You have one minute to prepare

-only one minute and then you have to speak for two minutes -TWO minutes -we'll talk

more about that later .So you have to speak for two minutes on that given

topic. And a lot of my students really struggle with it. They run out of things to say,

they're not quite sure how to structure their ideas and link their ideas together well, and they

feel quite lost and worried about that cue card section. So I thought it would be

really good to create a workshop where we can focus on that and really help you to know

how to structure your answers get your ideas together and speak confidently for those two minutes because those two

minutes are gonna go pretty quickly! Okay, so what we'll be covering in the workshop- we're going to look

at the different types of IELTS cue cards. There are different question types -so for

example ... you might have to describe a past experience, you might need to talk

about a person, you might need to talk about a place that you have been to ...

or describe an object. There are -there are a range of different types of cue cards and we'll be looking

at each of those and I'm going to provide you with a template so that you can - a template for

each question type- so that you can structure your answers quickly you can identify which type of cue card you

you need to ... speak about, identify the cue card type and then quickly plan a

nicely structured answer. So you're not going to run out of things to say and you will

know how to link your ideas together well. So I will run the workshop at two at least two different

times during the day so that hopefully there will be a time that is suitable for you. Um I am

very aware that we are all in different countries and sometimes the time zones can be

a little bit difficult to manage but I will give some different options. Really excited to have you

here do um sign up in the link below ... I look forward to seeing you here
